Aeronautical information service

The Letové prevádzkové služby Slovenskej republiky štátny podnik (LPS SR, š. p.), a state enterprise, is a provider of Aeronautical Information Services executed by Aeronautical Information Management Unit.

To be able to plan routes and to submit a flight plan, pilots need detailed information and data. The Aeronautical Information Service (AIS SR) provides information and data about the airspace and conditions of its usage, about the air traffic services, airports and aeronautical ground equipments which are needed for safe and effective flights operating, including charts production, which are necessary for the safety, regularity and efficiency of air navigation. In practise it means to receive raw data from subjects which participate in air navigation (ministries, Transport Authority, aerodrome operators, air navigation services providers and other) and data processing into specified format and consecutive distribution or accessing in electronic form on scheduled terms.

The Aeronautical Information Service provides information in the form of the Integrated Aeronautical Information Package consisting of the following products and services:

- Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP),

- Amendment Service to the AIP (AIP AMDT),

- Supplement to the AIP (AIP SUP),

- NOTAM and Pre-flight Information Bulletins (PIB),

- Aeronautical Information Circulars (AIC),

- Checklists and lists of valid NOTAM.

AIS SR also issues domestic aeronautical publications which are not a part of the Integrated Aeronautical Information Package and provides sale of ICAO documents.

Ancillary products and services provided by the Aeronautical Information Management Unit (AIM):

- VFR manual.

The aeronautical information and data are available for users in electronic form on the AIM online website. In addition there is possibility to obtain information through the European AIS Database (EAD).
