Aeronautical information service

The Letové prevádzkové služby Slovenskej republiky štátny podnik (LPS SR),  a state enterprise, is a provider of Aeronautical Information  Services.

To be able to plan routes and to submit a flight plan, pilots need detailed information and data. The Aeronautical Information Service (AIS SR) collects raw data from responsible authorities and based on those data creates and publishes aeronautical information and data from the territory of the Slovak Republic which are necessary for the safety, regularity and efficiency of international air navigation. Those information include, for example, aerodrome and navigation charts, data about the Slovak airspace and radio-navigation devices or aeronautical circulars.

The Aeronautical Information Service provides information in the form of the Integrated Aeronautical Information Package consisting of the following elements:

  • Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP),
  • Amendment Service to the AIP (AIP AMDT),
  • Supplement to the AIP (AIP SUP),
  • NOTAM and Pre-flight Information Bulletins (PIB),
  • Aeronautical Information Circulars (AIC),
  • Checklists and lists of valid NOTAM.

On each airport where LPS SR provides air navigation services, Air traffic services reporting offices (ARO) providing pre-flight information, are established.

NOTAM and relevant monthly checklists of NOTAM are issued through aeronautical fixed service (AFS). PIB are made available on request in the International NOTAM Office or in AIS Aerodrome Units. All the other parts of the package are distributed by mail.

AIS SR also issues domestic aeronautical publications which are not a part of the Integrated Aeronautical Information Package.

A new service – the provision of aeronautical information through the web site – has been established. There you can find inter alia the description of services, aeronautical publications including the electronic AIP (eAIP), NOTAM, SNOWTAM and PIB. Using an eShop function you can order aeronautical publications. All information presented on the web site are provided as an additional source and can be used in accordance with the Disclaimer stated on the page.
