The air traffic management does not cover the Slovak air navigation services only. In order to be efficient and support the development of air transport, a global solution must be found for the airspace. The correctness of such approach is confirmed by the program of the Single European Sky (SES), adopted by the European Commission. SES is an initiative to reform the architecture of European air traffic control to meet future capacity and safety requirements.

Letové prevádzkové služby Slovenskej republiky, štátny podnik (LPS SR), a state enterprise is a member of:

• CANSO (Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation) based in Geneva since 2000. The mission of CANSO is to guarantee mutual economic co-operation and co-ordination of air navigation services providers.

LPS SR is also actively representing the Slovak Republic in:

• EUROCONTROL (European Organisation for the Safety of air Navigation), the Slovak Republic is a member of EUROCONTROL since 1997
• ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization), the Slovak Republic is a member of the Organisation since 1993 (in the past, the Czechoslovakia was a member since 1944);
• FAB CE (Functional Airspace Block Central Europe) project since 2008.
